Lines companies win at EEA Awards

A huge congrats to lines companies Northpower, WEL Networks and Powerco who won gold today at the Electricity Engineers'​ Association of New Zealand awards!

• Northpower won the Engineering Excellence Award for enabling Te Ao Māori values to guide construction of a resilient power supply for Whangārei.
• WEL Networks won the Workplace Safety Award for improving workplace safety on LV assets for our industry.
• Powerco won the Public Safety Award for its vehicle v pole project.

Congrats to all the award winners who were recognised today.

And a special shout-out to Peter Berry and Alison Andrew who were both awarded a Meritorious Service Award.

This award recognises people who have made an outstanding contribution to the electricity supply industry. Extremely well deserved.

Alison served 10 years as Chief Executive of Transpower New Zealand while Peter Berry served 31 years as Executive Director of the EEA.
